Chiang Mai was a trip made at the spur of the moment. I was feeling overwhelmed by all the changes happening in my life and wanted to escape from all the madness for a few days, in search for inner peace. I’ve heard about Chiang Mai from family and friends and have always told myself I’ll go there one day, but that one day is always pushed back by many other excuses (calling out to all procrastinators, does this sound familiar? Ha!).
I have never felt so comfortable being in a foreign land in my 5 days spent exploring Chiang Mai. Throughout my time there, I felt the warmth and sincerity of the locals, saw the beautiful landscapes and magnificent elephants, heard the music of nature, smelled the fresh mountain air and tasted the lovely simple local delicacies.
I came to Chiang Mai hoping to rediscover myself and I left leaving a part of my heart there… (to be continued)
