Living in a garden city, how many of us pay attention to all the greeneries surrounding us on a daily basis? We are probably so used to seeing plants and trees everywhere that we took it for granted.
However, there is a group of passionate individuals who appreciates these plants and trees, so much so that they made it their livelihood sharing their knowledge with people who are keen to know. They are our nature guides who are very knowledgeable on most of the plants in Singapore.
For our sunset walk along Changi Coast, we decided to engage a nature guide to make the walk more interesting and indeed, the walk was brought to life with the guide’s personal stories from his kampung days.
Meeting our nature guide Allen and listening to his overview before we proceed
Setting off in high spirits!
Listening intently to what Allen is sharing
Sharing about his kampung days and what the leaves are used for
As we walk, we got to sample some of the plants and fruits. The nature guide is licensed to pick certain plants as they know how to do so without causing damage to the plants.
Can you guess what fruit this is?
This fruit over here is the most bitter thing I have ever tasted... and the bitternest lingers in your mouth!
Taking a walk along the coastal route in Changi will clear your mind with its lovely scenery that looks nothing like the bustling city we are known as.
Taking a breather and enjoying the views
It is good to take a breather from everyday life once in a while, and you need not necessary travel too far out to do that.
Join us for our next Singapore walk to discover more about our country!
