Hike Mount Jiri, 3 days

Hike Mount Jiri, 3 days

Jirisan is the second-tallest mountain in South Korea located in the southern region of South Korea.

The 1,915 M high mountain is located in Jirisan National Park. Designated as the first national park in 1967, the park spans three provinces (North, South Jeolla and South Gyeongsang) and is the largest in South Korea. The name of Jirisan means “the mountain of the odd and wise people.”

Since the ancient times, Jirisan has been known as one of the three legendary mountains in Korea, and a hallowed ground of the nation’s faith. With close to 5,000 flora and fauna inhabiting it’s grounds. Jirisan is a treasure chest of nature. Various vegetation from warm-temperate forests and temperate central forests to cold forests populate Jirisan.

To have the best hiking experience, it is important hikers require a good level of fitness and must be willing and able to walk over rocky terrain with some steep ascents and descents. Ideally you may undertake regular exercise three or four times a week, experience with hill walking with a day pack is recommended. You must feel comfortable walking up and down stairs and on uneven ground.
