World’s Most Beautiful Rail Hike, 8 days

This is a good self-guided hike for beginners and fans of the Swiss railways. This walking trail of Via Albula Bernina leads along the UNESCO World Heritage train line of the Rhaetian Rail.

The long distance hike parallels as close as possible to the Albula and Bernina line. It provides fascinating views that open out onto the 100-year old work of art in the magnificent landscape. This hike brings you to Thusis and Albula valley to Engadine with the world famous skiing destination of St. Moritz. Continue pass Bernina pass to Val Poschiavo and end your hiking trip at the city of Tirano in Italy.

Some of the trails lead over narrow and rocky paths. Hiking shoes are mandatory, especially for the descent to Val Bever. Parts of the tour can be cut short if needed.
